Hola a tod@s!!!
Os escribo desde Miami, donde estoy entrenando muy fuerte para hacer un buen torneo. Quiero aprovechar la ocasión para agradeceros a todos el apoyo que me disteis y los comentarios que dejásteis en el blog durante el torneo de Indian Wells. Me ayudaron mucho!! Por cierto, un par de cosas sobre fotos: ayer participé en una sesión fotográfica para la revista Elle. Espero que veáis las fotos y me digáis qué os parecen cuando salgan, más adelante. También he colgado fotos de la eliminatoria de Copa Davis ante Suiza en el apartado fotos. Son todas vuestras! A ver si os gustan!

Us escric des de Miami, on estic entrenant molt fort per a fer un bon torneig. Vull aprofitar l’ ocasió per a agraïr-vos a tots el suport que em vau donar i els comentaris que vau deixar al blog durant el torneig de’Indian Wells. Em van ajudar molt!! Per cert, un parell de coses sobre fotos: ahir vaig participar en una sessió fotogràfica per a la revista Elle. Espero que veieu les fotos i me digueu què us semblen quan sortin, més endavant. Hi everybody!
I’m writing from Miami, where I’m training hard so I can put in a good performance in the tournament. I really want to thank everyone who wrote on my blog during the Indian Wells Tournament for the messages of support you all sent. They helped me a lot!!! That reminds me, there are a couple of things I wanted to tell you about photos. Yesterday I did a photo session for Elle. I hope you get to see them when they come out and tell me what you think of them. I’ve also put up some photos of the Davis Cup tie against Switzerland in the photos section. There all yours! Yes, great job in your performance in Indian Wells, your best result to date. So let this bring you restored confidence for upcoming tourneys! Very enjoyable to watch you perform live, especially in front of the crowds in your Baghdatis match–the stadium was packed, thousands of fans cheering you both on.
You beat both Sela and Baghdatis after loosing to them in prior matches, so this abodes well for you and beating players that are ahead of you.
Although, I am also a partial fan to french players too, best of luck in your match versus JB, didnt you beat him recently indoors. So I imagine, that a slower hardcourt should put the chances even more in your favor.

My apologies, first you play a guy from Ukraine. He is rather young, his favorite surface is hardcourts and his best shot is his backhand according to his info. Although these are not proven facts. His parents are both engineers thus there should be some thoughtful shots on his selection.
This player admired Hewitt and Federer which doesnt say much, because 2 different players.
You have the experience and style on your side.
In the finals of Indian Wells Roddick lost, and did you notice the strategy implemented by his foe? He rushed Roddicks backhand alot and forced Roddick to hit passing shots off his backhand, which Roddick could not do.
We learn from the past in order to win in the present and conquer the future.

You got really tough draws, both the single and the double。But the good thing is that you are in a great level now, I believe you will get through the ordeal.
You did a photo session for Elle again? You really love Elle……And she dose photograph you pretty good. I love it last year, now I’m eagerly looking forward to the new session!

How many of you are also wondering about TR match, first round? So far it seems he is winning!
Looks like they reshuffled the schedule and courts, that must affect the players.
Does anyone know of a TR fansite?
It would be nice to see one in North America, to cheer on TR as he plays in tourneys–win or loose–to let him know he has alot of support rooting him on!

This should be a tough match. Soares was ranked in top 25 of doubles last year and Melo was also ranked high.
Both are coached by the same coach. Both state their volleys are their best shots. Which would mean keep them at the the baseline, although are players completely forthright in their descriptions to the media and publications? Prob not, why give info to help opponents.
Although TR is quite candid in his profiles. Come one TR you can win this doubles match!.
The energy of pulling out a tough 3 set win last night should provide some extra resources for TR in todays doubles match, and Alamagro is usually motivated to win.

Tommy, si tuvieras tiempo… o alguien de tu equipo… solo quería ofrecer algo. Se trata de algo un tanto especial. Pero no por raro ni nada similar. Primero, mi más rendida admiración.. y a por ellos. No sé si habréis oído hablar del frescobol. Es un deporte que se está practicando en las playas de Brasil e India y requiere de una cierta habilidad. Ahora se juega, en la playa, con raqueta de paddle y pelota de frontenis. No he podido verificarlo cuantitativamente, pero puedo asegurar, sin exagerar en absoluto, que la velocidad de la pelota llega a alcanzar unos 250 km/h. Llevo unos años practicándolo y no dejo de pensar que sería un excelente entrenamiento para la precisión en los golpes más veloces de los mejores tenistas del mundo.
Aunque quede en el saco de esos miles y miles de seguidores y animadores… tenía que intentarlo..
No obstante, a ti, simpático Tommy, y extensible a todo miembro de tu team, os ofrezco sinceramente mi casa… mi casa es tu casa. (A 300 m. de la playa de Trafalgar). Podría surgir la oportunidad de verificar que no estoy contando un cuento chino…

Becker is next.
Seems like he is known for his serve and forehand, and he likes the hardcourts. He has a two handed backhand. Now why is it that more 1handed backhands players dont slice the ball back to two handed backhand players. Here is a link of him playing, although its a few years old. Youtube is a good resource for research–

Graf and Fed use the slice backhand so well against two handers, they keep it so low that its hard for the two handers to do much with the ball. Graf use to do it to Seles, Davenport and Sanchez alot, she would knife the slice back and make them stretch.
You’ve won 2 rounds in tough situations so you can take this match too!
Comes down to who wants it more, in that moment who believes more and who uses the right shots at the right time!!!

El primer set ha sido rapidisimo y muy comodo que el aleman no ha entrado en el match, pero ya en el segundo ha remontado y de que manera.
Ha sido una lastima despues de haber salvado dos match point, pero bueno hoy no ha sido el día. Ahora a centrarse en el dobles con Nico a ver si aqui conseguimos algo grande!

Hey Tommy! You really are a fighter, and a great tennis player, of course. After the first set against Becker I thought you would „walk“ right through, but he obviously became a pretty strong opponent after all. You came so close to win the third set, and fought really hard, I´m sorry that you couldn´t turn the match around, and win. But you still did a really great job out there,and as we all know, in sports, especially in tennis, loosing or winning a match sometimes lies so close together that it is also a little bit of luck that decides a match in the end. I´m sure you´re disappointed, but keep your head up and get some good rest. All the best, take care, M

como se puede tener tanta cara dura de decir ke estas entrenando duro y hacer el partido ke hiciste ayer contra becker.. me parece lamentable. No quiero faltarte al respeto, pero me parece una falta de profesionalidad, dejrse llevar de esa manera ante un rival tan inferior, que sepa usted que esta jugando con la ilusion de sus fans que confian en usted.. La verdad estoy bastante desilusionado, habia puesto toda mi confianza en usted.. ya nunca volveré a confiar en ningun deportista. Suerte en futuros torneos…

Me gustaría remarcar que el partido de ayer fue sólo eso un partido más, en la que tu diste todo lo que pudiste y luchaste hasta el final con plena confianza, y eso es lo realmente importante.
Hubiera sido mejor ganar nadie lo pone en duda, pero no pudo ser y cuando uno hace lo que puede con todo su empeño nada se le puede recriminar.
Lo que tambien me llama la atención es que haya gente que se atreva a cuestionar el trabajo de otros. Nadie tiene derecho a juzgar el trabajo de nadie, y mucho menos a reprochar nada. Los que vimos el tenis ayer lo vimos por pasar un buen rato y apoyar al deporte español, y yo por lo menos me quede con lo mejor, un Tommy que supo dar lo mejor de si mismo , no se vino a bajo y nos hizo disfrutar hasta la última pelota de partido; pero de ahi a cuestionar si el señor Tommy Robredo trabaja duro o no me parece que es meterse en campos que a ninguno nos incube, o es que acaso la perfección existe????
MUCHO ANIMO y leelos comentarios que realmente merecen la pena

Terry no me merece la pena ni contestar a estas personas que quieres que te diga.
Pero vamos esto que dice es de no ser una seguidora. A mi me duelen las derrotas de Tommy, pero en estos momentos es cuando más tenemos que estar con el apoyandole. Que sepa que nos tiene ahi siempre! Porque para poner mensajes asi, mejor que ni los escriban.
Pero bueno Tommy aqui estaremos siempre apoyandote hasta el final que lo sepas!!!!!!!!!
por cierto mucha suerte hoy en el dobles contra los cocos Nestor y Zimonjic, va a ser un match muy duro, pero Nico y tu podeis!!

Sigo insistiendo quue Robredo se dejo llevar y no dio el 100% ni estuvo concentrado todo el partido, no hablo de perfeccion, pero un ejemplo: alguien vio Lapenti contra Federer? jugo de tu a tu con el, a pesar de saberse muy inferior al suizo, pero el ecuatoriano dio todo en cada punto hasta la ultima gota de sudor, eso es trabajar y luchar por los objetivos. Na Tommy no pasa na, a hora otro partido y otro torneo, aun tienes mucho por delante.
Y recordar a seudofans que Tommy no juega para entretener a nadie juega porque ama el tenis, porque es bueno en ello y por que quiere, otra cosa es que nosotros queramos verle y animarle y a mi personalmente haga lo que haga jamas me defraudara porque a parte de ser un gran jugador es una gran persona.
Y sobre todo Tommy gracias por esos partidos que nos has regalado en tantas ocasiones que nos han hecho disfrutar tanto y nos han tenido pegados a la pantalla o agarrados a las gradas.

If you don’t mind I will give my two (2) cents on the issue of TR and competing. I have watched some matches of TR live, in person and he won every match.
Actually during the Indian Wells, TR was suffering from dehydration or some sort of stomach ailment, the desert terrain can be difficult on the body, and fought on.
Really in the Marcos Baghdatis match, TR was very ill and he left the court to resolve some medical issues. Yet when he returned he fought on, bravely, and won the match. This was a very dramatic match, such drama, and fight, and spirt, it is what sports are meant to do.
So I viewed firsthand the fighting spirit of TR.
TR is ahead in the last few weeks in winning and pulling out tough 3 set matches, for which he deserves alot of applause.

Hola, estoy bastante enfadada por el partido del otro día con el alemán Becker, no porque él ganara, sino porque tú perdiste. A veces me pregunto por qué sigo viendote , si pierdes jugando, pués ánimo y no pasa nada, pero cuando tiras los partidos… en fin.
Bueno, aún así, este año también iré a verte a la caja mágica de Madrid.

Super excited to see the doubles results. Very well done! I was not sure how the match would go with N/Z but always look for the underdogs to outperform the favorites (ranking only). I was of course cheering for you both! Wish I could have seen the match. Best of luck in the next round and hopefully you and Nicolas will get some attention for being an awesome doubles team! Keep showing them how it is done and have fun!
Sorry to hear about singles but very optimistic that with the clay court season coming up you will more than make up for it with some great matches & tournament outcomes.

Congratulations on your doubles win against Zimonjic/Nestor. Well done with Nico.
You two seem to work well together, but hey you actually work well with every doubles partner you have. Got to see you play with Gonzo in Indian Wells last year and you guys were awesome too.
